Overview

What the summer flights delivered

Every dollar this window went to the same job: finding the Triangle's LGBTQ+ fans, welcoming them into the stands, and keeping a direct line to them that the club owns. The three flights each carried a different part of that job.

LGBTQ+ Fan List: June and July to date

Account move, zero interruption

On June 29 this campaign moved from the club's original ad account into a dedicated NC Courage account so agency spend bills separately, per the club's request. The signup form, the fan database, and the welcome emails carried over with no gap. June 29 was also the single biggest signup day of the flight, with 13 fans added.

Pride weekend geo-fence: Out! Raleigh

While Out! Raleigh filled downtown, a reach flight put "Happy Pride, Raleigh, from NC Courage" in front of every fan Meta could find inside a two-mile fence around the festival, June 26 through Sunday evening the 28th. The job was presence: be visibly, publicly there for the community during its biggest weekend.

Did it lift the database and retargeting?

Database: 12 fans joined the LGBTQ+ list during the fence window itself, in line with the always-on flight's normal pace. The clearest signal came the day after the fence came down: June 29 was the single biggest signup day of the entire flight, with 13 fans added. We read that as festival-weekend awareness converting once fans were back home, though we can't cleanly separate it from the account move that happened the same day.

Retargeting: the flight seeded the pools we retarget from. The 80 fans who engaged with the ad and the 23 new page followers flow into the club's engagement audiences, and this awareness flight is exactly the kind of warm-up that makes the always-on signup ads cheaper over time. The honest caveat: a reach flight's 55,585 fans are not individually retargetable on Meta unless they engaged, so the durable retargeting asset this summer is the certified fan list itself, which is now 130 strong and fully owned by the club.

Winner: the flag creative

Meta's budget optimizer found the winner fast. The flag creative earned 58% of all ticket clicks at nearly double the click-through rate of the other two, so it received the majority of the budget. That is the system working as designed.

On ticket sales

Every click from this flight arrived at the ticket page tagged utm_campaign=ncc_july4_seattle_reign. Ticket sales complete inside the club's ticketing platform, which our ad account cannot see into, so we report clicks delivered rather than claiming sales. Your ticketing or web analytics team can filter July 1 to 4 orders by that tag to count exactly how many of the 1,893 clicks became buyers. If the club can place a tracking pixel on the ticket confirmation page, future flights can optimize toward purchases directly and report sales on this page. We would recommend that as the single highest-value upgrade before the next ticket push.

  • Ad delivery data pulled from the Meta Marketing API on July 6, 2026, covering both the club's original ad account and the dedicated NC Courage account that agency campaigns moved to on June 29.
  • Fan signup counts come from the signup database that receives every lead form submission directly from Meta, which is the system of record. It counts 130 signups against Meta's attributed 126; the database also captures signups Meta does not attribute to a paid impression.
  • "Certified" means the fan submitted the signup form with their name and email and received a confirmation email. The list belongs to NC Courage.
  • Fan-list June figures combine $464.61 on the original account and $39.61 on the new account (June 29 to 30). July figures are the new account only.
  • Ticket sales for the July 4 flight are not directly observable from the ad platform because purchase completes inside the club's ticketing system. All clicks carried the UTM tag noted in that section.
  • The click-through-rate total row is impression-weighted across both accounts.
